Tengwar for Basic ButtonsHere you will find the key combinations that you can use to make your own tengwar buttons. Simply copy the text provided (under each image), paste it into a word-processing program, and change to the font to a standard tengwar font. Check the pictures to make sure that you are getting the correct effect—some of the characters used are not standard and they might not appear properly on your computer. (I have included some tips for getting the unusual characters, but if they don't work for you, simply check your character map.) Note that you must match the characters exactly—capitalization is very important. These combinations should work for Dan Smith's tengwar fonts and any other fonts based on the "standard" mapping. If you do use this information to make your own buttons, please link to this site in return (there are several small buttons you can use, if you like). Scroll through the page or jump to one of the following: If you want to learn how to write anything else, I have finally written a series of tengwar tutorials that will teach you how to write anything you like!
